Mr Draper, M, HIM and I spent a wonderful weekend in Edinburgh (albeit some of us came back with more than a few tourist souvenirs… i.e. colds) – we once again stayed at (my favourite) B&B of all time – 94DR! (you can read about our experience of last year here)
Run by John & Paul (and their labradoodle Molli)… the guesthouse is nothing short of perfect!
Starting off with them welcoming us with open arms – as if we were long-lost family/friends… to our comfortable rooms. This time – HIM and I stayed in the Bowmore room while M and Mr Draper shared the Tamdu room (where beds could be twinned). (Remember that all rooms are named after Whiskys)
Not only do these dynamic duo provide scrumptious breakfasts – but they also leave a little sweet treat in your room (next to the tea/coffee table) every afternoon!
But back to the breakfasts….
Each day started off with either a granola/yoghurt and fruit compote or with porridge (and we made sure that we tried out both over the course of the weekend)
Day 1 had an amazing menu offering us grilled halloumi cheese served with a fig, cucumber/tomato/mint salsa and warm mini pitta’s
while Day 2 was a day of *Benedicts*…. I had the Florentine version (with spinach) while HIM & Mr Draper went Traditional (with ham)… and M for the Royal (with Smoked Salmon – which I unfortunately didn’t photograph)
All in all – this is THE place to have breakfast before heading out for a day of exploration and sightseeing – so make sure you check them out when you are next in Edinburgh! (And I can’t wait to head back again NEXT year!!)
