Another restaurant that I have been fortunate enough to visit in the past, is now home to HIM’s flatmate, who shall from now on be named as THE CHEF 🙂
Part of the PISCOPO group (consisting of 5 glorious Italian Restaurants dotted around Brussels). The Family (3 generations worth) have been passionate about providing GOOD Italian cuisine since 1979, when the wood burning pizza oven at Salvarino started up and provided tantalising smells (and tastes)… and this was just the start!
My person favourite, Dolce, is conveniently located on the ‘Mecca’ Street of restaurants just around the corner from Chez Moi, close to the infamous Avenue Louise and within 50m of L’Everest (my favourite Nepalese restaurant) and Ashoks (a fabulous Authentic Indian spot). Started in 1999 by Gianluca Piscopo, this little corner of heaven offers a range of Italian dishes – with staff that provide more than just a little bit of an Italian flair 🙂
(this might have been because we were 2 gals out for dinner – M and I…. and because we knew THE CHEF, formerly of La Piola kitchen – but from the moment we arrived, we were smiled at, called *BELLA* and given amazing service from the Host who seated us, to the waiter who looked after us).
M literally lives 30m from Dolce and has had a love for them ever since she moved to the area over 3years ago (in fact – if I am not mistaken, we have celebrated one of her birthdays here before!)
while sipping a glass of Prosecco, we drooled over the menu,
finally deciding that we were hungry enough to share an antipasta dish,Tempura de calamari et scampis sauce tartare maison (Tempura of prawns & Calamari with a side salad – 17€) – delicious and the size would have been perfect as a main!!
M then ordered the Ravioles à la truffe et crème légère au parmesan (Raviola with Truffles and parmesan – 18€), which I know for a fact is delicious!
while I opted for the Saltimbocca alla romana (Veal escalopes topped with Parma ham and sage and fried in butter – 18€) – say goodbye to any diet ideas and enjoy this with a side portion of tagliolino pasta!
Would I go back? yes… I have been there before and I would return. The prices are not La Piola cheap and cheerful – but the menu is far more extensive and it feels like you are getting a full Italian experience! Plus they have a terrace in the back which will be great when Spring finally decided to show up!!
