In the heart of Brussels (aka – City Centre near de Brouckere and the Bourse and only 200m from the Grand Place) is a Drug Opera, a restaurant named after the fact that it used to be a pharmacy (aka Drugstore) and that it is in close proximity to the La Monnaie Operahouse.
The wide variety on their menu means that there is very little that they don’t offer!
The ground floor is their *tavern* which reflects a more English pub style ambiance… while upstairs is their *restaurant* which is covered over numerous mezzanine levels and has a more Belgian/French cuisine offering.
HIM ordered the Vol au Vent (chicken and mushroom stew in a pastry case)
while I opted for a chicken caesar salad (which was essentially lettuce, cucumber, tomato, corn, chicken and parmesan shavings)
The food was tasty and reasonably priced and you can see why it is as busy as it is…. it is conveniently located for tourists and locals alike and has a wide offering.
