Normally, catered year-end functions – conjour up images of blocks of stale cheese, slices of somewhat stale bread with dodgy toppings and conversations with your colleagues that only really get interesting 3glasses in.
Last year, we didn’t even have a year-end function..
But this year, we reached a few targets AND moved into a new office block (which is super slick and modern – albeit open plan) and we therefore had more than one reason to celebrate! Yippee yeah.
Now, I am not entirely sure that I could call our gathering a *year-end party* or if it was a *welcome to the new building*… but what I can say is that I was blown away (in a good way) by the catering!
They transformed our canteen and reception area into a wonderful cocktail area with cocktail tables supporting tasty treats… fresh coriander and prawn springrolls, crudites and my personal favourite – a vase with kebab sticks… some with seared tuna, some with prawns – and some… with chocolate coated foie gras!!!
On one side, we had a Sashimi chef slicing up pieces of the freshest fish (if it was any fresher, they would have been blowing bubbles!)
and on the other side , we had more plates of treats.
All of this was complimented with trays of *bites* that melted in the mouth (once again – my favourite was the foie gras topped melba toast)
And finally… trays of sweets made their way around as well (I am still dreaming out about the chocolate filled profiterole that almost blew my socks off!)
Who are they, you ask? They are Great Food, Great Traiteur – a perfect name for them!
