The sun was shining and after a grocery run on Saturday morning – I meandered down to Place Fernand Cocq which is only about a 10minutes walk away from my cosy spot – to grab a light lunch and a quick catch up with my Aussie mate before she heads off for 2months holiday:
I had been to Sucré Salé once before for lunch in winter and had enjoyed a glorious homemade steaming bowl of soup there… but I wasn’t sure if this would be the right venue for a Summer Saturday lunch….
But it was! They don’t have an outside seating area but they do have a little room at the back that has windows that look out onto a mini courtyard and for me was the perfect place to sit… windows open for a cool breeze and a lot more light than the seated area in front that looks out onto the road!
The menu offers salads, tartines (open sandwiches), omlettes, quiches, croques (toasted sandwiches), Panini’s – amongst other items… and everything is freshly made on site! PLUS they do sandwich platters for corporate lunches, etc… what a great idea!
Prices were exceptionally reasonable and my lunch of a tartine (open sandwich) with smoked chicken, guacamole and sun-dried tomatoes was DELICIOUS (poulet fume, guacamole, tomates confites) only cost 8.50Euros!
Would I go back? most definitely – well priced and good wholesome snack food…
