The first time I encountered this little haven of delights was with 3 of my wonderful friends from Brussels to celebrate one of their 30th Birthdays… the second time was with visiting friends from SA (and I know that L is still raving about their Hot Chocolate!)
ANGELINA was founded in 1903 by an Austrian Confectioner and it was named in honour of his Daughter-in-law!! Since it’s opening, it has been the meeting place of Parisian Gourmets … and some very famous faces (Coco Chanel, Proust and of course MOI)… and it boasts having the most phenomenal World-famous hot chocolate l’Africain (to be honest… it is THAT good) and it’s signature *Mont-Blanc* pastry (not to be confused with the pen!)
The impressive Menu has delectable Breakfast items that are served until 11.30am… think Pain au chocolat, Organic bread rolls with butter, honey and Jam, freshly squeezed juices, their infamous hot chocolate, Croissants and/or eggs with smoked salmon (the list goes on) or one of their gorgeous little tarts! 😉
They offer amazing Salads, selective quiches and a few more *exclusive* items like Caviar on blini’s with Champagne or seared scallops on creamy polenta. And the Pastries list reads like my favourite novel!
Starting with their Signature *Mont-Blanc* which is Meringue, lightly whipped Chantilly cream and chestnut cream vermicelli… and they say that up to 600 are sold PER DAY!
They have multiple addresses… so you just need to find the one closest … but my favourite is the ORIGINAL… 226 Rue de Rivoli, 75 00I, Paris
Opening hours: weekdays from 07h30-19h00; weekends from 08h30-19h00
